Revision notes of Mathematics + Answer Copy

Below is the link to the revision notes I prepared for my mathematics optional. This should give one a decent idea of what I tried to include in them based on my understanding on what is important.

I have tried to keep them error-free as much as possible. In any case, apologies in advance for any inadvertent errors which may have crept in them.

Wish you all the best !

P.S. : The notes of numerical methods are far from satisfactory and one should refrain from relying completely on them.

Also attached below is one of my answer scripts of a mock test I had given last year. This should be sufficient to enable one to understand the answer writing aspect of this optional. Be mindful of the fact that there are a few errors in the correction.

  6. Sir , In calculus how to check continuity of two variable function at a point. Though it is easy to prove discontinuity by approaching from different paths but no specific method for continuity. Even for approaching through polar method mentioned in malik and arora requires to know that function is continuous beforehand. Also from where to study conceptual part of area , surface and volume of integral calculus. Malik and Arora covers few concepts as well as questions. Or any other book which could be referred for these topics as I have referred only Malik and Arora for calculus ?

    1. Such uncertainties while attempting a question on calculus will always remain. There does not exist a full-proof universal method for showing continuity. So one needs to improvise a bit in questions on calculus in the exam. Just practise what is there in the book and try to fit in one of the methods of the book with the question's demand. Area, surface and volume integral, focus more on problem solving from Malik and Arora itself. If at all you wish you could go for Principles of Mathematical Analysis by Shanti Narayan

  7. Sir what is your maximum score in test series?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Do not bother much with the test scores, they need not reflect your final scores. Just focus on using the test series as a means of identifying the problem areas and rectifying them in time for the actual exam.

    1. So, first of all be careful of the correction. The answer sheet I have uploaded contains some errors in correction. Also I have been unable to find other answer booklets as of now, will upload them soon if I get them.
